Corn Creek Swimming Hole
Laura saw the footage I took of the waterhole yesterday and wanted us to take her there! Yesterday we arrived a bit too late and it was quite cold despite the heat. It’s such a deep canyon the sun only reaches this pool for a few hours around noon. So today we hit the pool at the perfect time, so the glacier water didn’t bother us with the 38°C.
Unfortunately with my luck as I was repelling down the canyon I broke a tree which in turn disturbed a wasp nest and they went at me. I didn’t even notice until I started hearing buzzing and then what felt like multiple stabs to my back. I dropped the beach bag and quickly ran down the ravine. The total count once we got to the bottom was: 4 stings on my back, 3 on the back of my knee and one or two on my left hand.
But the glacier water gave me instant relief and it was all good after that. There was another family there and we all had a blast cooling off in this pool just 10min away from home.
