Stranger No. 26/100 - Ronan [Explored]

This picture is #26 in my 100 Strangers project.

Moments earlier, I photographed another stranger rocking a maroon hat. Little did I know, but I blew the shot. Fortunately, I ran into Ronan! He was sitting down having a smoke in Pitt St Mall when I walked past and noticed his hat out of the corner of my eye. My first thought was perhaps it would be too similar to the photo I had just taken--I hadn't realised that the previous shot wouldn't turn out yet--but then I noticed his dreads and the combination was too good an opportunity to pass up.

When I asked for a photo, Ronan replied with an easy, "yea, sure." He was agreeable to being positioned in better light. It was after work and the shadows were descending on my favorite stranger haunt, so I'm glad he was so helpful. As I brought up my camera to shoot, he asked what it was for. I gave him the run down, explaining that I was working on a personal project photographing strangers. He let me take a couple shots and then wished me good luck with my project and went on his way. What a cheerful guy!

I know it's not the right holiday, but I'm thankful for Daylight Savings. It gives me more hours in the day (especially after work) to photograph strangers under natural light!
