south of Crawford, Nebraska: 27 FEB'87

The view is from the lead locomotive cab on BN eastbound freight #120 as it climbs "Crawford Hill"; the train is wrapped around "Horseshoe Curve" and the view is towards caboose and rear end of our train. Our head end will soon be rounding the horseshoe curve at "Breezy Point", once again orienting us in the southward direction we were in before we entered this canyon around the curves to the left. I'm probably looking straight east, geographically, in this shot. Yes, we did often exchange waves between cab and caboose, or lantern "hiballs" at night!
