Sophia (89/100)
I had been hanging next to a cool little side street off the brick lane market, as it had a really nice graffiti wall and wanted to use it for a backdrop, when I met Sophia.
Sophia's style and personality were so engaging that I couldn't help but notice her. She was really cool and we chatted for a bit about her creative side- she is a body painter (how cool is that!) and has a facebook site 'squiggles and wiggles' (link to follow!). That would be a really fun thing to photograph I think…
Sophia was happy for me to take some shots in the street and then some against the wall, and at one stage a big gust of wind began to blow a stall over and I asked her to tell me if I was going to get squashed and she bust into this infectious laugh! (see the comments shot!)
Thanks so much for being such a memorable stranger and being part of my project- you're right that the smile suits you better!
This picture is #89 in the second round of my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project at www.100strangers.com
