Moose Drool 5099

The largest member of the deer family may not be much at table manners but he knows where to find a good meal! Moose are herbivores. During the spring and summer months they generally consume shoots and leaves of shrubs and trees. During the winter months they browse on stems and twigs of woody plants, and in many places they consume more conifers than deciduous plants. When available, however, moose will also consume large amounts of aquatic vegetation. Although aquatic plants are not a necessity, they provide needed sodium, are much more easily digestible than terrestrial plants, and generally provide a large biomass. The moose in this photo owes thank to beavers that have created this wetland from a small stream. Now they just have to figure out who's going to provide the napkins! #iLoveNature #iLoveWildlife #WildlifePhotography in #Wyoming #Nature in #America #USA #Moose #DrDADBooks #Canon #PickYourPark #GrandTetonNationalPark #GTNP #Photography #photooftheday #Picoftheday
