Watching playful lion cubs carrying on as cats generally do, it is sometimes difficult remembering that these are wild animals. For most of us their "cuteness" factor is off the charts, and when encountered on safari the nearly silent Serengeti breeze is punctuated by the oohs and aahs of mesmerized observers. I don't know anyone who wouldn't want to take one home, but as we all know, little kittens eventually become big cats. That can certainly present a problem. These two fuzzy felines give new meaning to the adage, "I've got your back." Their playful behavior went on for a good 30 minutes, until mom made her debut. She had left them hidden in the kopje while she went off to hunt. Soon she will take them to join with the pride.
