All Things, Big and Small 8260

I find it interesting that relativity applies to all things, and not just physics. The largest land animal in the world is but a speck on the Serengeti plains. Dwarfed by the grandiose sky, the elephants march slowly and steadily toward life giving water. They know it is there from a dozen miles away. We cannot smell water even if it is placed directly in from or our noses. They can find it long before they can see it. Relativity....

The Serengeti plains seem to go on to infinity. They host the largest migration of land mammals in the world. But even the endless plains are limited by a seemingly bigger sky, and the migrations of avian species dwarf those of terrestrial beings, both in number and distance. Relativity.... My time in Africa is always short, yet, on those dry, hot afternoons minutes stretch on into hours. Days filled with wonder never seem to end, but in the end they are over all too fast. Relativity.... When I think of my last visit to that iconic continent it almost seems like years, but remembering specific encounters sometimes seem like yesterday. Relativity....
