A 1.5 hour drive from the port to Bangkok on a new 4 lane highway, part of it tolled.
A drive through China Town to the Grand Palace. The most ornate series of buildings I have uncounted.
Lunch was a boat ride across the Chao Phraya river followed by a ride through the canal system in a long tailed boat powered by a naked car engine. We survived a tropical thunderstorm on the journey.
