2/100 - Holly
Fresh from my success with Stephen, I found a nice location with blue painted railings that I thought would make a good background for my next subject.
I waited a while looking for someone wearing something that would contrast or complement the railings. I just missed a stranger wearing a light blue hat and cursed myself for reacting quickly enough.
Shortly after this I spotted Holly in her light blue jacket and knew she would be perfect for this location. Perhaps a little too perfect as she looked as if she had just stepped off a catwalk. But emboldened with my 100% success rate so far, I asked if she would help me with my project.
I was so taken aback by her immediate yes that I didn't quite get the shot I wanted. After choosing the background carefully, I cropped too tightly and didn't get much of her jacket in the shot. Nor for that matter, the railings as I moved myself to get a better angle on her rather then asking Holly to move. Also I failed to get any background info from Holly as I was too busy taking the picture. D'oh! Well this group is for learning.
Despite these minor details, I'm pleased with the shot and think it brings out the great smile Holly has.
This picture is #2 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page
