It's bad enough that my power supply failed. It's bad enough that my new one came, and I thought that I'd managed to kill it right after hooking it up. It's bad enough that after I shipped it back, I found out I'd been using my power supply tester incorrectly, so I might not have needed to ship it back. It's bad enough that when I returned it, I accidentally put the new one in the box of new one #2.
But to add insult to injury, NewEgg would not let me return power supply #1 in power supply box #2, even though it's the same power supply, and I bought them both from NewEgg. So they billed me an additional ~$110 for a power supply I no longer need, and sent it back via UPS, who delivered it in a pool of water.
As of the writing of this caption (20110823), it is now 40 days after I took these pictures. UPS took my package the following week, and has not contacted me at all about refunding me for the damage. They are going to try to get the money from NewEgg, but NewEgg is going to tell them it was already broken. They are then going to try to not pay me for this, based on the fact that it is broken. But the only one who ever made the determination that it was broken was me -- and I'm pretty sure I did it wrong.
Either way, UPS needs to either give me the power supply back (so I can re-test it and, possibly, return it to Corsair for a manufacturer warranty replacement), or give me my money. Right now I've paid $110 for nothing, and I don't even have a broken something to show for it. I have nothing.
NewEgg complaints, UPS complaints, UPS delivery, damaged package, power supply.
NewEgg. wet.
