Night Falls

The right waterfall, at night.

I don't normally take pictures of this side, as shade from the nearby flowering plum makes makes the water less photogenic from a lighting perspective.

It is, however, the more energetic of the two sides and so I thought I'd see how it looks to the camera at night when lighting is guaranteed by its well-positioned lights.

So I pulled out the tripod, the remote, settled down on the patio, and played with a wide variety of apertures and exposure values.

This shot was pretty much middle of the pack, f/7.1 at 4 seconds using my beautiful 135mm portrait lens, which I sadly use too infrequently.

52 Weeks: the 2021 Edition - week 6: LIGHTS AT NIGHT

... and after I packed it all back in (a whole 10 feet or so) I was met with two pairs of beady eyes, wondering when THEIR photo shoot was going to take place.

Thankfully, the boys are happy to accept the trappings of a shoot without the work - so I pulled out the dog cot and we practiced lying down on it "gracefully".

Praise was given (whether warranted or not) Cookies flowed freely and a good time was had by all.

No cameras required.
