Little engine that .... ?
So I've created a flashier version of the hello world. The output is crap html for viewing.
<font size="7" style="COLOR: #000000; FONT-WEIGHT: bold"><span style="COLOR: #3366ff">H</span><span style="TEXT-DECORATION: underline"><span style="COLOR: #3366ff">ell</span><span style="COLOR: #ff0000">o </span></span><span style="FONT-STYLE: italic"><span style="TEXT-DECORATION: underline"><span style="COLOR: #ff0000">w</span><span style="COLOR: #3366ff">or</span></span><span style="COLOR: #3366ff">ld</span></span></font><br/>
It reminds me of Microsoft unleashing a thousand frontpages. But this could be fixed to generate style sheets, xhtml etc. Maybe the reason for this is to allow for backwards capability for browsers. Would have liked a export to some sort of standard page.
The nice bits are pdf, doc. I created a permanant url for the demo but the url is not readable and not a cool url ... (it may not change but is very hard to remember and read).
www.writely.com/View.aspx?docid=dc2wft9r_0nj8hfr
The other thing I hate is new pages launch new windows, hence this shot. Overall though if they can keep this url up as much as google itself (big ask) it beats paying MS tax but there is a cost..... (to be cont).
