Electric

If it's summer in Iowa, then there will be thunderstorms!

A spectacular thunderhead nearly covers horizon east of Mason City, IA; as a vintage Baldwin-Westinghouse motor stands ready for the next days' chores on the IATR.

IATR...the Iowa Traction Railroad...began service in 1897 and is one of the last remaining railroads to haul freight in regular service behind electric motors. IATR #60 was built in 1917.
