My aunt emailed me the other night to tell me she left a little something for me at my grandma’s. Today is super warm, so I was out cruising and thought I’d stop by and see the old gal.
This was in a little Valentine’s bag for me. She printed out a photo of me and Chichi. This was over the summer, in my baby brother’s van on the way down to Chincoteague to visit my dad and stepmom, and also right before he and Chichi hit the road across the country in his van. I haven’t seen them since.
The frame she put it in was nice, but I’m more of a wood paneling, rec room kinda guy…so I put it in a more suitable frame for my room.
Not much wall space left, but I hung it right by my @jeremyeknight ticket stub and poster. And the drawing I drew of “Sunny Day Real Estate” when I was 12, that I found in a box of things my mom had saved, after she died. I brought it with me the night of the show, and had Jeremy Enigk sign it for me.
Opening up for my musical hero nearly 7 years ago, is still one of my greatest personal accomplishments.
