Fortified castle walls - Documantairy Photography (Blandy-les-Tours /FR)

Medieval fortified castle with six towers, The bases of the three last towers were raised after 1370 out of sandstone from Fontainebleau, whereas the higher stages were completed about 1390 by Guillaume IV out of gritstone.

Château de Blandy-les-tours (Est. 13th-century), monument - a feudal fortress with six towers and three gates. Are rare example of medieval military architecture.

 

Previously in 7th-10th century a Merovingian (Mérovée and Clovis) and Carolingian (line of kings escendants of Charlemagne) cemetery. After that a fortified Manor (11th-13th century) followed by fortified Castle (14-15th century), In 1707, The seigneury of Blandy is finally bought and transformed into a farm by the Marshall de Villars, owner of the castle of Vaux-le-Vicomte. Recently restored to the original 13th-century castle design with the restoration from 1883 to today..
