On April 2, 2006, ST Train AD-1 with ST GP9 #54 (a former B&M engine) holds at Shelburne Falls, MA for westbound Train EDMO. The local is on its way back to East Deerfield from North Adams, having spent the week switching customers on the Adams Branch. On this job, crews actually preferred "The Mighty 54," as they jokingly called it, to the GP35s. As a side note, though I ended up not including this photo in the book, it was definitely a tough call!
