The Peninsula Commute
JPBX #912 leads the #212 Limited behind the CEMOF, Caltrain's general maintenance facility, in San Jose, minutes away from arriving Diridon Station. Before the CEMOF was opened in 2007, Caltrain typically sent out engines all the way to Roseville for heavy maintenance.
This is my first of many interceptions that week along the historic Peninsula Commute between San Francisco and San Jose. My main goal on the Peninsula was to shoot these F40PH-2s, the first engines delivered to Caltrain in 1985 when Caltrans assumed control over Southern Pacific's commuter operations.
