Objective 3: Elements and Principles of Design

Line: There are multiple examples of line in this photo. The front of the shoe makes a curved line which helps your eyes travel through the photo. The curved lines on the shoe give a feeling of elegance.

Pattern: The white stitches give off a pattern and a sense of rhythm, as well as the holes that the shoe laces thread through. These both also have a sense of movement, helping the eye to flow through the picture.

Texture: the shoe laces that are in focus show a smooth, soft texture.

Emphasis: The bright colour of the shoe really contrasts with the ground and the “Vans” tag, making them both stand out.

 

Objective 4: Lighting

This photo was taken with natural lighting, the sun, being my main source of light was to the left of the photo causing it to become side lighting when on the ground next to the shoe.

 

Objective 5: Post Production

I increased the contrast and resized.

 

Objective 6: Critique

If I were to retake this photo I would try to focus on the “Vans” tag more and I would probably angle myself a bit more to the left so that it would be a bit more visible.
