"One Heart and Many Pins"
An hour ago I was sitting at my desk, pondering what I might photograph. I looked to my right and spied a bag of arts and crafts we were saving for our daughter and niece. I spotted a package of styrofoam hearts, and thought that I had perhaps stumbled upon today's photograph. When I saw the accompanying bag of about one thousand pins....I knew I was in business. I immediately began to stick the pins into the edge of the heart, and then decided to make one line down the center. I had imagined pinning the entire heart, but then remembered that I would have to sleep tonight. I thought I would play with colors, so I slapped a red filter on a snooted speedlight for the background, and a blue filter on my Light Blaster on the heart itself. While the red filter is rather evident, the blue filter is a little subtle. When I saw the first image with just the red light behind the heart, I could have left it there. Still, I wanted to at least show the shadow of the pins on the front of the heart. I then got to my computer and realized the memory card had crashed. I am currently waiting to see if the recovery program worked. During the interim, does anyone know any jokes? Alright, it is now the following day!! I recovered the image!!
