Day 110 of an Unknown Number

Is tomorrow Easter? Oh......right. So, I've been sitting on this image for a while. After coloring eggs for an egg hunt, my five-year-old says to her Jewish atheist father, "Here Daddy, take a picture of this!" The girl has a good eye. Long story short, this egg has been sitting around for a while. For the record, it does not stink at all. So, I stuck the egg on a black piece of felt, and positioned a small softbox at camera-left. Considering the size of our subject, I knew I would not need a large umbrella. I just had to make sure the modifier was close to our young model, as I knew I wanted the falloff on camera-right. In an effort to make the table and background go a nice dark shade of black, I shot at a relatively small aperture and bumped up the light output. I used the macro lens which allowed me to create the shallow depth of field. Aside from sharpening, nothing was done in post. Thanks for dropping by!!
