Day 2 - Puerto Chino, Galapaguera and GAIAS -Galapagos 2014

The original plan for today was to visit the El Junco Lagoon. However, due to heavy rains overnight our guide Andres and our trip leaders decided that it was not safe to hike there. Therefore the plan was changed to visit a remote beach area called Punta Chino and on the way back visit "Galapaguera de Cerro Colorado" (Cerro Colorado Galapagos Breeding Station). We then headed back to Baquerizo Moreno for lunch at which time we were introduced to Dr. Judy Denkinger. We then headed to the Galapagos Science Center and attended a seminar on Dr. Denkinger's research on sea turtles and whales. Her graduate students gave us a tour of the labs. We had the evening to wander around town and ended the day with yet another delicious dinner.
