(k) The 35 movies I saw in 2001 :)

Only counting movies I saw for the first time. (I was always under the impression that I saw a bazillion movies in 2001. That must have been because I saw 27 of them in the first half of the year. :q ) Faves: 9!? Best movie: Lunch with Charles! Best movie in history: ....... Lunch with Charles!!! 8D WARNING: LIST MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!

13-Jan-2001: 1. American psycho

I had read the book, and was kind of “meh” about that and the movie. Might rewatch the latter.

14-Jan-2001: 2. Sleepy Hollow

Comments in my diary: “Pretty bad. Boring. Bad. Alright. Then I watched the rest of Gladiator. Mmm. Mm. Mmmm. But I bawled myself to death.”

20-Jan-2001: 3. Jalla! Jalla!

26-Jan-2001: 4. Vertical limit

The only chance I've had to fangirl over Nicholas Lea at an actual cinema, where I saw Vertical limit about 4 times. :B I first read about the movie in 1999 and could not fucking wait. Everyone hates it, especially people who know anything about climbing. Oh well. Stuff it has: Mountains (!!!!!) + snow leopards!!! + le Nick + nice music. PS. It was filmed in New Zealand, which strongly contributed to my desire for a trip there. Do you know what this means, beyotches? I WAS PINING FOR NEW ZEALAND BEFORE LOTR CAME OUT. Yeah!

27-Jan-2001: 5. Magnolia

29-Jan-2001: 6. Saltwater

Gothenburg International Film Festival 2001 Galore, #1

29-Jan-2001: 7. Kanak attack

Gothenburg International Film Festival 2001 Galore, #3...

1-Feb-2001: 9. The house of mirth

Gothenburg International Film Festival 2001 Galore, #4... (School "dragged" me to the first three.) I saw it because of Gillian Anderson from LE X-FILES!!!!!! but... I almost fell asleep, and didn't understand much without subtitles, and... Sigh.

2-Feb-2001: 10. Poetic justice

3-Feb-2001: 11. Tomten är far till alla barnen

Swedish movie whose title means ”Santa is the father of all the children”. :| It's true, children. I hate to break it to ya (only not really), but Santa... Santa fucks.

12-Feb-2001: 12. Crouching tiger, hidden dragon

I realize I was utterly alone in finding it boring.

15-Feb-2001: 13. The Full Monty

Fave!

18-Feb-2001: 14. U-turn

In which Joaquin Phoenix plays a psycho rockabilly. Every time his evil plans are foiled by the village cop, Johnny Cash’s “Ring of fire” comes on. Tihi! *POKE* (I had been delightfully clobbered by my Joaquin obsession 4 days earlier.)

21-Feb-2001: 15. Quills

Fave! *joaquinfangurldiez*

24-Feb-2001: 16. To die for

Fave! I think.

3-Mar-2001: 17. Parenthood

Fave! Or something. It's from 1989. Itty bitty Joaquin! xD

24-Mar-2001: 19. 8 mm

1-Apr-2001: 20. Men of honor

27-Apr-2001: 21. Traffic

Boring as fuck, plus I saw it to drown my sorrows after a Spanish test, but instead I was reminded of all my fuckups. PS. I never learned Spanish, I only got a good grade. o_O 1. Hear speed of real-life Spanish. 2. Lie down. 3. Die.

1-May-2001: 22. Chocolat

DON'T GIVE THE DOG CHOCOLATE YOU STUPID ASSHOLES

Fave! Give it to your friends’ kids. Heehee.

21-May-2001: 25. Xtro II: The second encounter

25-May-2001: 26. Lunch with Charles

Fave! IN FACT, MY NUMBER. ONE. MOVIE!!! :D You’ve Probably Never Heard Of It^TM. It has Nicholas Lea, Canada, roads, Greyhound buses, vegan food, and nice music. I always said (perhaps before I found me some proper hobbies) that I’d like to jump into it. If I had been introduced to it today, it may or may not have become my #1, but what the hell. :)

29-Jun-2001: 27. The yards

Which was also the former title of my railroad set, tehe.

7-Aug-2001: 28. Bridget Jones’s diary

Fave! … I realized 11 years later. It’s teh lolz, especially her mum. xD

Fave! Post-apocalypse… Hehe…

17-Sep-2001: 31. A stranger among us

5-Oct-2001: 32. The impossible elephant

11-Oct-2001: 33. National Velvet

Fave?! Probably the oldest movie I've enjoyed. (I'll... call it a fave, to be on the safe side.) I wanna see it again, but it seems somewhat... unfindable. Meh.

23-Nov-2001: 34. The lord of the flies

I read the book in 2000, but didn't jizz my pantz. Unlike everyone else. D:

3-Dec-2001: 35. Priest

Fave! Cosy British Film^TM concerning a gay catholic priest.
