Two Canadians, John Robert Connon (1862-1931), and William James Johnston (1856–1941), contributed to the development of the panoramic camera.

 

Both obtained patents for camera designs capable of taking photos with a 360 degree field of view. W.J. Johnston, whose patent date of November 29, 1904 is stamped on the inside of the panoramic back of this Century Cirkut camera, and J.R. Connon's 1888 patent for “a photographic instrument by which a continuous panoramic view of any scene may be produced”.

Deux Canadiens, John Robert Connon (1862-1931) et William James Johnston (1856-1941), ont contribué à la mise au point de la caméra panoramique.

 

Les deux ont obtenu des brevets pour la conception d’une caméra possible de prendre des photos avec un champ de vision de 360 degrés. W.J. Johnston, dont la date de brevet du 29 novembre 1904 est gravée à l'intérieur du boitier panoramique de cette caméra Century Cirkut, et le brevet obtenu par J.R. Connon en 1888 pour «un instrument photographique par lequel une vue panoramique continue de n'importe quelle scène peut être produite».
