making the hitch

This year, the Black River and Western Railroad operates its first ever nighttime "North Pole Express" Christmas trains using steam power. On December 1st, the second day of operations, ex-Great Western consolidation #60 makes the hitch to its train in Flemington, NJ before leaving for the North Pole (Ringoes). #60's tender has even been relettered with "North Pole Express" for these trains, which have all sold out. Unlike previous years, Sunday's trains also now transport passengers to the "North Pole" to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
