Baptisia 'Cherries Jubilee' 23W23 Baptisia D4-

Baptisia 'Cherries Jubilee' 23W23 Baptisia D4- (Hans Hansen, 2011) DECADENCE® Wild Indigo Baptisia, Mature plant size: 3x4ft., RED, dark mahogany, USDA Hardiness Zone 4, Michigan Bloom Week ISO WW22, In Garden Bed D4 for 21 MONTHS (Bluestone). Planted in 2021.

Mt.Cuba Center: Baptisia ‘Cherries Jubilee’ is the closest there is to a red-flowered false indigo. Vivid maroon buds become a muted rust color as the flowers age. When viewed up close, the color is very striking, but when viewed from a distance the floral display takes on a slightly duller orange tone due the yellow keel

(inner portion of the flower) blending with the reddish outer petals. In peak bloom ‘Cherries Jubilee’ has an impressive 280 inflorescences over its medium-sized habit (36”h x 48”w), creating a truly spectacular display

2011 Hans Hansen introduction makes a well-branched 3' tall x 3' wide clump, topped in late April (NC) with flower stalks adorned with dark mahogany buds that open to cinnamon colored flowers, highlighted by yellow keels. As with all baptisia, its drought tolerance and deer-resistance are legendary. Mt. Cuba rating 4.7

Re-potted on 7/7/2021. Plant this fall.
