Peony 'Momotaro-Peach Boy' 23W22 Itoh U2- (Anderson/Seidl/Bremer, 2017) (3-SL-WH) Itoh Intersectional Peony, Mature plant size: 34in., Medium height, single, white/ Cream/ peach petals, red flares, dark pink stigmas, white sheath, yellow stamens, midseason bloomer , USDA Hardiness Zone 3-8, Michigan Bloom Week ISO WW22, In Garden Bed U2 for 5.7 YEARS (Fina). Planted in 2017.

American Peony Society: ‘Tessera’ (Lutea Hybrid Gp) x lactiflora (note tree peony as seed parent). First bloomed 2006, propagated since 2008. Cream to peach colored single flowers washed peach-blush on opening, 1-2 per stem, 5½ inches in size (14 cm). Short red flares provide dramatic accent. Cream colored sheath almost entirely encloses green carpels. Pink stigmas add the final touch to a very restful flower. Stamens present but pollen absent. No fertility noted. Excellent foliage with thick substance and waxy texture, in form typical of lactiflora x Lutea hybrid crosses. 34 inch (89 cm) height. Vigorous and easy to grow. Good candidate for landscaping due to fine habit. Bill Seidl was stationed in Japan in his military assignment and enjoyed the culture and language immensely. This peony named for lead character in the popular Japanese folktale “Momo Taro.”

Like most intersectional hybrids, it has excellent foliage. Good candidate for landscaping. Named for the Japanese story 'Momo Taro-Peach Boy'. A (Tessera x lactiflora) cross.
