Paeonia 'First Arrival' 6/2022 Itoh E4- (Anderson, 1986) (2-DB-PK) Itoh Intersectional Peony, Mature plant size: 28in., PINK, Medium height, semi-double, lavender pink petals, dark pink flares, fades to light pink, no pollen, no seeds, early bloomer, USDA Hardiness Zone 3-8, Michigan Bloom Week ISO WW21, In Garden Bed E4 for 6.6 YEARS (Swenson). Planted in 2015.

 

American Peony Society: FIRST ARRIVAL (Roger F. Anderson), Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin, 1986. Semi-double Itoh hybrid, lavender pink. Seedling #A80-01. First bloomed 1984. Parentage: Martha W. x Reath hybrid tree. Lavender pink blooms when first open; as the flower gets older, it fades to a lighter pink. No pollen or seeds. The 24" stems hold the 4-5" flowers on the top of the plant which has dark green foliage, blooming at mid-season. Bulletin #259.

 

Breeder Roger Anderson, Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin, 1986. Deeply cut dark green foliage. Intersectional hybrid of Martha W. x Reath hybrid tree peony. One of the first Itoh Intersectionals from Anderson.
