Pinus cembra 'Chalet' (Cold Hardy) 2019 photo - Common Name: Dwarf Swiss stone pine, Size at 10 years: 8x4ft., Clusters of soft-to-the-touch, blue-green needles with white undersides, USDA Hardiness Zone 3-7, In Garden Bed HR-J14 for 35.8 YEARS (HLG). Planted in 1984.

 

Missouri Botanical Garden: 'Chalet' is a dense, narrow conical form that typically grows to 5-8' tall and to 2-4' wide over the first 10 years, eventually maturing over time to 10-15' tall. Soft, blue-green needles are attractive year around.

 

Location: Michigan State University, Hidden Lake Gardens, Tipton, MI. Harper Collection of Rare & Dwarf Conifers. 42°01'43.7"N 84°06'43.1"W
