"Words of Everlasting Life..." - John 6:68
"Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life…” John 6:68
MEDITATION
“…When you don’t understand something that Jesus teaches, you can still trust that the Father is drawing you to Himself. He is still sparking the desire in you to love his Son, and He is offering you the grace to embrace Jesus’ words, which are “Spirit and life” (John 6:63). Don’t turn away like the disciples in today’s reading. Keep pressing in, as Peter did, until you can freely say, “Master, to whom shall I go? You have the words of eternal life” (6:68).”
PRAYER
“Thank You, Jesus, that the Father has paved the way for me to come to You! Help me to respond to His Grace.”

“... Jesus knew what a hard saying HIS words about the Eucharist were going to be for some. HE also knows what will be difficult for you. So come to HIM and Trust that HE will give you insight, one step at a time.”
PRAYER
“Lord, I believe! Help me to understand YOUR ‘hard’ sayings.”

“…the words we have from Jesus in Scripture and through the Church aren’t just ancient history. They are a personal message that God addresses to each one of us this very day. They are meant to deepen our friendship every time we read them. Even if we don’t fully understand them, as the Twelve certainly didn’t (John 6:60), we can linger over HIS Words and let them sink into our hearts. Because every Word is part of a Love letter that the Holy Spirit longs to write on our hearts each and every day.”
