I finally had a chance to go comet hunting; here are some preliminary photos from my Sony point-and-shoot. If you look closely at the star setting in between the East and Middle Peaks of Mt Tam you'll see it is fuzzier, greener and has a faint tail. That's Comet Leonard. More detailed photos taken with a better camera will be posted soon. Happy New Year!
