What Are You Doing New Year's Eve
What are YOU doing on New Year's Eve? This is the slightly lesser known of Loesser's holiday duets, and less controversial than the other one. I am a fan of the original silver-screen performance of "Baby, It's Cold Outside" by Ricardo Montalbán and Esther Williams, though Frank Loesser's first wife, Lynn Garland, was not. He originally wrote "Baby" as a duet for them to sing at holiday parties and she was upset when he sold the rights to MGM for use in Neptune's Daughter to be sung by the future antagonist of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" is definitely the lesser of the two when it comes to suggestive innuendo.
Thanks to @double_lo7 for joining us on this! It takes three of me to hang with the vocalists on this!
