Spectra - Stranger 24/100

I was having tea with a friend and her daughter when Spectra and her beautiful mother arrived and sat at the table next to us. Spectra was in quite the elaborate attire. I introduced myself and asked her if she would mind participating in my project. I was pleased that she was delighted to do so.

 

I thought because of her dress, she may be participating in the Celtic festival. It turns out that she was not, and just was "feeling it" today. She looked beautiful. She and her mom had come to Austin today from San Antonio to attend a The Sunshine Community Gardens Tomato Festival. They were making a day of it in the city. Spectra misses Austin. She is living with her mom in San Antonio now while she goes through chemo. These were two beautiful women and their affection for each other was touching.

 

Meeting these two really emphasizes that this project is so much more than just photographs.
