Dallas Jones
Meet Dallas Jones, this week's #ResidentofEIU, Dallas is a freshman from Troy, Illinois. He has not declared a major yet; however, Dallas plans on job shadowing a dietician and public relations worker this semester to help him figure out what he wants to major in.
"My favorite part about living on campus is how easy it has made it to be involved. It becomes simple to join new things when I am already on campus." Dallas explained. His favorite memory comes his involvement on campus. Dallas works for the #EIUFootball team as their manager and loves to travel with them. He especially enjoyed traveling to face the University of Arkansas.
He also works at WEIU, the official radio station for #EIU, where he writes and works with their technology. Dallas not only works on campus, but he also is a part of ROTC, a member of Douglas Hall Eboard, and the president of #DouglasHall council. He enjoys being the president for it allows him to plan interesting events for his peers.
Dallas' advises #FuturePanthers to get involved and stay involved on campus when you arrive! He found getting involved to be extremely easy to do, for there is always events, that you will be interested in and to deeper your knowledge, going on campus. He also suggests that Future Panthers take a campus visit to get a good feeling about the environment of EIU and Charleston.
Dallas chose EIU for its small class sizes at our college. They allowed him to easily meet new people and learn inside and outside of the classroom through the opportunities provided. Eastern went from being just a school to "an avenue to learn skills" that will help impress future employers in Dallas' opinion.
Congratulations, Dallas, on being this week's #ROE. We hope you continue to learn at EIU in and out of the classroom.Good luck on your job shadowing sessions!
