SFO Airport noise over San Francisco and peninsula

by Charlie Wambeke Photography

I bought my home in 1967, before many of my Flickr viewers were born. It was a peaceful and pleasant place to live for the first 48 years, until the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) arrogant bureaucrats decided to change the flight paths of airlines taking off from San Francisco Airport (SFO) and Oakland Airport (OAK). They have increasingly directed flight paths that come directly over our neighborhood, adjoining neighborhoods, and many times directly over my home. Noise pollution is now the price of living in many Bay Area environments. When the shadows of jets flying overhead cast a flashing shadow through our kitchen skylight, we know the noisy jets are close overhead. The photos in this album will be mainly for the benefit of neighbors and friends who suffer from the mush brained bureaucrats and greedy corporate executives who, like THOR, cast the thunderbolts of jet noise into our space late into the night and early morning and resume the bombardment throughout the day.
