Southwest Boeing 737-700 Flight 5814 SFO to LAS May 4, 2018 reg N7860A MSN 29362 image # 20180504-184343 C4V

I made this photo of Southwest Boeing 737-700 reg N7860A MSN 29362 Flight 5814 from SFO to LAS - San Francisco Airport to Las Vegas - at 6:43 PM May 4, 2018. As you can see this jet was so close overhead that I could not get the entire airliner within the frame of my Canon Powershot SX50 that was in full zoom mode. I was gardening in the backyard of our San Francisco home with my camera safely tucked between the deck railing spindles. My preparation to photograph jets after I hear their approaching roar is to get up, take off my leather gardening gloves and power on my camera and extend it to full 1200 mm telephoto as I take off the lens cap. I seldom know where the jet will be. This one was right overhead by the time I framed the shot. I identified the type of jet, registration number, Serial number - MSN - and flight number from reading the fleet number of 7860 that was printed twice under the nose of the craft. My second shot of this bird only got part of the body in the frame. Our Excelsior District home is about 15 miles from San Francisco Airport. The the first 48 years I lived at my residence, I rarely heard a plane. The FAA's NextGen flight routes changed that in 2015. I will not comment publicly how I feel about our politicians who allow this and the FAA who consorted with the Airlines to ruin the lives of the hundreds of thousands of people affected by the NextGen flight paths - Railroad tracks in the sky.

If you enlarge the image, you will see 7860 printed twice under the cockpit and 700 just under the nose.
