BCR Freighter Makes the Long climb up Grenfraser, BC
I made several shots of this train as it slowly climbed the steep grade at Glen Fraser, and whilst this isn’t perhaps the shot that loco enthusiasts would have selected, from a photographers point of view this one seemed to stand out to me. The headlight creates a focus point and this is about the only composition from where I am which captures the full length of the train.
It’s a little after 4.00pm and I had been stood here at Milepost 169.5 for over 4 hours. Running 3 hours late the train behind the headlight is Nv/Pg (North Vancouver to Prince Rupert). On point is BCR #4608 with #744 behind, and #4603 providing mid-train support power. The merchandise train comprised of 101 wagons.
