sanjayprasad: @looking_glass likewise, I've a thing for automatic watches :) This is my '71 Omega Constellation, my Dad bought it in Zurich on his way over to the UK from India. I'm wanting the watch collection to rival the cameras but it's a much more expensive hobby!

looking_glass: As according to that link back in 71 your Father would have forked out 710 Swiss francs for it! =) and! It is commonly referred to as the f300 because it has a tuning fork that resonates at 300 oscillations per second, and is accurate to within 2seconds a day.... That was a fun exercise for me!oh ... As a side note I was living in Switzerland for the earlier half of this year and their meticulous punctuality & orderliness & rules pleased me and drove me insane in equal measures!.... But v. Nice watch! =) what a lovely legacy from your Father
sanjayprasad: @looking_glass not seen the link but it's an automatic mechanism, the one you're referring to is one of the first quartz movements introduced by Omega, they're very collectable now. I think mine will be v different, it's basically all gold (really not my taste but this watch seems to pull it off). I do love the history of it, it was given to me on my 30th as he'd worn it every day till then, he thought it should have a new custodian!
