Benetton had run beautiful (if not particularly succesful) cars in Formula 1 starting in 1986 after purchasing the Tolman F1 team.
Following a stunning debut for a single F1 event with Jordan in 1991, newcomer Michael Schumacher signed a full contract with Benetton the following year.
Despite having not the fastest car, Schumacher's driving skill was clear. 1994 showed what was to come, with dominant performace from the opening round of the season, four straight victories, a 2nd place podium, and two further wins.
The season was unfortunately marred by the fatailities of Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger, with hasty moduificatons to racertracks and racecars in an effort to improve safety.
Schumacher's early season success, followed by an additiona two victories in the second half of the season saw him score his first F1 Driver's Championship. Despite this performace, Benetton was beaten to the Constructors Championship by Williams, mostly due to DNFs by Schumacher's three Benetton team mates in the 2nd car.
The 1995 B195 rectified this situation, providing Benetton their first (and only) Constructors Championship.
The Benetton is not featured in any Lego sets, but has been chosen for its significance in Michael Schumacher's early career, for this month's mocaround challenge, hosted by @paulielego and finishing up on March 16th.
