Eddie Jordan established Jordan Grand Prix with a view to entering Formula One and hired Gary Anderson to design his team's first Formula One chassis. Anderson had previously worked for Reynard and had designed that manufacturer's F3000 car. He would carry out design work on what was eventually designated the 191.

The car had a tidy form with a raised nose and a drooping rear diffuser. Originally designed for the Judd V8, the 191 ended up being powered by a Cosworth-Ford HB V8 engine, producing 650 hp (485 kW).

The 191 managed only 1 fastest lap, and no wins, in a year dominated by Mclaren and Williams. However, the debut year for Jordan also signified the debut of one of the sport's all-time champions, Michael Schumacher, dricing one race Grand Prix, qualifying 7th. A legal dispute ensued between Jordan, and Benetton, who Schumacher would go on to drive for the following year, and ultimately win two world championships.

The Jordan 191 has also been recognised as one of teh most beautiful Formula 1 cars of all time.

The Jordan is not featured in any Lego sets, but has been chosen to build for its beauty, for this month's mocaround challenge, hosted by @paulielego and finishing up on March 16th.
