Everly has been packing!

We're moving away from the DFW area and it's been a whirlwind of emotions and action lists. I haven't even made time to properly tell some of my favorite friends!!!

In the midst of it all, we packed up and polished up our home in a week or so, whipped the yard into shape, had professional pics taken, and had an open house while we were out of town for a wedding. We had a vacation planned and then cancelled (thanks a whole lot, hurricane Harvey), a temporary move to one and then the other of our parents' houses (both in San Antonio while we thought the hurricane would ravage us instead of Houston), an annual exam for our big dog, a diabetes diagnosis for our little dog, (my cat was able to be in just one place), preschool enrollment for our busy, inquisitive, and perceptive three year old son, the sudden blindness of our only remaining grandparent who was previously in good health, saying goodbye to my dreamy art director job at my beautiful gourmet grocery store, saying goodbye to really, really, really important friends and family and then my husband was "deployed" to the Houston area to help ease his fellow officers' burden during all of their personal (and likely professional) tribulations. #thinblueline

Several great things have happened during all of our personal chaos however. My husband got a hard earned promotion which kicked off all of these other events, our little dog is much healthier and happier, we're going to be able to move closer to all of our parents, our son is LOVING being with his grandparents, John is thriving with his new job (even though he hasn't quite gotten to do the work with all of the upheaval and he's commuting 3.5+ hours each day), and I haven't pulled my hair out and lost. my. mind. as much as I thought I might!

All in all, I'm grateful for the experiences, grateful for our safety and health, grateful for my husbands patience and generosity, and grateful that these are my burdens because there are people in this world suffering from stresses far worse than mine.

Thanks for letting me share. Thanks for sharing your wonderful images and thoughts and creativity with me and the rest of us in our Flickr community. It's always helpful. =)
