Instalment #6 in Photos of Things That Are Not My Children. Or, Instalment #1 in Rooms In Our House. (Or, Installment #88 in I Like to Capitalize Many Words, Just For Fun.)
Before it belonged to S, I painted this room asparagus green and squeezed two desks, two bookshelves, and a worktable in here for my scrapbook studio space. It was crowded. When it got alarmingly claustrophobic, I finally moved all my scrap stuff into the basement and this space was transformed into a guest room of sorts with a small twin mattress and a desk built for a ten-year-old. Sadly, neither room transformation was photographed. Not that they were much to look at, but it sure would have been fun to see the changes.
Not long after C was born, S acquired this room for her very own. I'm still very fond of this bright green, so that didn't change, but we added a healthy dose of red because, really, who doesn't need a little color in their life? And the ladybugs? Those are for luck.
You can tell by the waiting Teddy that the owner of this room has only stepped out for a moment. Probably to go find some toys and dress-ups to scatter all over her freshly cleaned space...
(That vinyl rub-on is one of the only things up on the walls of this house. I have no problem painting loud colors all over my space, but it's become apparent that I have some issues committing to home decor beyond the paint. Something to work on this year.)
