Along for the Ride
We're riding along in SCRM RSD-1 #1956 which was fired up to perform some switching duties, notably pulling Ventura County #2, a 2-6-2 Prairie, out of the shop. The steamer has been having some minor repairs done and was separated from its tender. It and the tender were pulled out so the drawbar between the two could be reinstalled. Being used as a handle between the diesel and the steam loco is one the museum's ice-bunker reefers, a former Santa Fe steel version. After the drawbar was replaced, the steamer and tender were shoved back into the shop. September 7, 2019 Perris, California
