Snow Surprise
It is November 16! I was not expecting to be taking snowshots this early in the 2014-2015 winter season. Not that I'm complaining mind you...
Actually, this is the first time I've had the chance to shoot *any* train pictures in nearly 2 months! (Meaning that I pretty much missed the fall leaves)
Returning from taking my daughter back to Missouri S&T and after misfiring on attempts to shoot 3 other trains, I finally had some good fortune and good timing. I rolled up to the 5th Street bridge over the UP (ex-MoPac) Jefferson City Sub in Eureka, MO about 2 minutes before the westbound Amtrak #313 Missouri River Runner zipped through this pristine, untouched snow scene that was only a few hours old. With the cloudy day, there was only about 5 minutes of light left.
Oh, and that's also AMTK #406 one of Amtrak's few remaining F40PHs (now rebuilt F40PHR) which sports Amtrak's Phase III Heritage Scheme and normally runs with the Exhibit Train.
