Part of my “Book Of Life” final project: In which I create scenes imagined from my favorite books. The book of choice for this project is The Feminine Mystique by Betty Friedan.
A first draft concept for the second exercise recreating scenes from The Feminine Mystique by Betty Friedan. A cultural classic and a catalyst for second wave feminism, The Feminine Mystique is my favorite book in my adulthood. While reading, I highly related to the women before my time suffering from poor gynecology care, hidden chronic illnesses, miscarriages, and other bloody, gruesome female healthcare issues. These self portraits depict these painful ailments I so heavily related to while reading.
