But since we live in a racist society, we begin our accountability work as an active ally. This might be changing your profile picture to say, "I am an ally," or writing your pronouns in your bio. While these actions support the cause visually, the solutions are stuck in the interpersonal quadrant. An accomplice understands an oppressed individual cannot easily cast away the weight of their oppression on a whim.
