The autumn blues
For Flickr Friday's #purple theme
This is quite obviously (at least, I hope so!) purple! But I've always found it interesting that flowers described as 'blue' are quite often more purpley, as true blues are difficult to find in the floral world.
I don't like to use flowers for 'colour' themes as a rule. But these beautiful 'blue' asters are at their best in my garden at the moment, and they really were lending themselves to a bit of ICM play. Whilst I have been known to add radial blur in processing, this blur is all in camera; created
by trying to hold an off-centre focal point and rotating around it.
Taken with my flektogon, and the vintagey feel slightly enhanced in CEfex, though I did try to minimise impact on the colour. (I held an ND filter over the lens so that I could use a slower shutter speed; i have no idea if it's even possible to get filters for vintage lenses! This works remarkable well but does require a bit of concentration.)
