Smoke It Up in H-Town
Most of the smoke in Texas comes from barbeque, but this was a welcome sight on a warm Monday morning in Downtown Houston.
After being on public display at the Houston Amtrak Station the day before, UP 4014 is putting its train back together to head for home. The diesel helper has the train ready to go on the main in the distance, the last step here is the Big Boy coupling up to the head-end.
While the diesel made most of the switching moves, UP 4014 had been pulled out of the way and under U of H-Downtown. Now that the engine is out from underneath the university's main building, a big puff of black smoke releases into the air.
