Skaters representing Team USA earned two medals at the third event of the 2016-17 Grand Prix of Figure Skating:

The 2016-17 Grand Prix of #FigureSkating series continued Nov. 4-5 with the 2016 #Rostelecom Cup in Moscow, Russia. Although athletes representing the home nation claimed the most podium placements with five top-tier performances, Team USA came away with two medals, bringing the nation's series-wide haul to 10: two gold, six silver, and two bronze. Russian women miss out on podium sweep:

The trio of young ladies representing home nation Russia at the 2016 Rostelecom Cup had a chance to sweep the podium after finishing the short program one-two-three. Although Anna Pogorilaya (215.21) @annapogorilaya and Elena Radionova (195.60) @lenok_radionova their positions to take gold and silver, 2014 Olympian Julia Lipnitskaia @sunnylipnitskaya and restarted her program --likely thanks to a nagging leg injury-- and wound up placing last (148.13). American Courtney Hicks, who ranked sixth after the short, skated an ISU personal best long program (119.30) to claim the bronze (182.98)
