Omega-3 Benefits

Omega 3 is a fatty acid, critical for your mental health and there are three types: ALA α-linolenic acid which can be found in oily plants or seeds like sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, coconut oil, EPA polyunsaturated fatty acid found in fish oil and DHA docosahexaenoic acid found in algae and fish oil. Scientifically omega-3 has lots of benefits, let`s go together through all the advantages:

1.Cancer. Cancer is a very common illness this century, sad, but true, it`s a disease which can eat you inside out, damage everything in its way. Omega-3 fatty acids help you fight against this disease, combined with a healthy diet and sport, it just improves the quality of life and actively reduces the risk of developing breast cancer and prostate cancer.

 

2.Cardiovascular disease and diabetes. It is proven that omega-3 prevents you from getting all types of vascular diseases and also stroke. Oil fish lowers the blood pressure, stimulates the blood pressure, reduces the blood triglycerides which can prevent you develop any diabetes.

 

 

3.Inflammation. Omega -3 fatty acids have a great power of controlling the inflammation, it`s a good anti-inflammatory substance and a sedative. By lowering the inflammation markers in the blood can help calming down the joint/ bones/ muscle pain. It is used in combination with painkillers and herbal supplements mostly to keep calm your pain faster and as mentioned in point #1 helps to improve the quality of life.

 

4.Developmental disabilities. Children might have difficulties with development disabilities, Omega 3 gives you an iron immune system, and it`s actively used to heal autism and ADHD. Scientist proved that EPA could actively help with ADHD, but doesn`t replace the treatment itself, it needs to be used as a supplement.

 

 

5.Birth and pregnant women. ALA and DHA have a tiny benefit to avoid early delivery. There is no reliable study behind this, makes me be a bit skeptical, but as every supplement, it just helps your body and it is proven that omega-3 fatty acid doesn`t harm the birth.

 

6.Mental health. We all know that omega-3 “feeds” the brain; a well-taken care brain can keep you away from mental diseases, as long as your life is balanced. This fatty acid is used as a supplement (plus the regular treatment) for depression and anxiety as well as bipolar disorder. There is a low chance that omega-3 can prevent developing psychotics.

 

 

7.Omega-3 keeps your brain young and healthy (cognitive aging), stops getting Alzheimer disease and dementia.

 

8.Prevents you getting asthma, allergic rhinoconjunctivitis and keeps your skin healthy.

Overall omega-3 fatty acid is an excellent supplement, it prevents certain diseases (as mentioned in the points above), but bear in mind that it cannot be used as a treatment without using the medicine prescribed by your GB.

Together with a healthy balanced diet, exercise, omega-3 is great. Also, if you don`t like pills/ supplements, omega-3 can be found in nature (fish oil, and vegetable oils).
