#89

EL #89 out of Croxton Yard in Secaucus NJ is headed westbound along the Ramapo River above Tuxedo NY. Lead unit is SD45 3632 and the second SD45 is not 3602 but 802. The D&H bought 3 of the 4 ex EMD SD45 demonstrators in 10-1967 and numbered them 801,802,803. The D&H was not set up to service and repair the first ever EMD's on their roster so they traded them to the EL for U33C's 3301,3302,3303 in 03-1969. They became D&H 751,752,753. I remember waiting here at an earlier date for hours to photo a freight that was picking up at Suffern NY. only to walk away and have him blow by just when I was far enough away to not be able to catch him. The old 4 channel crystal scanners were great for their time but the Ramapo Mountains were sometimes spoilers in this area. Howard Kent Jr. 01-31-1974.
